After a fire burned down her first gallery in Fortuna, CA and Covid closed the second in nearby Ferndale, Ms. Daetwiler packed up her family and moved to Maine. There, with her nine chickens and a dog, she paints things the way she sees them, creating windows into other worlds through imaginative storytelling. She is a self taught artist whos work often contains hidden elements and a twist or two if you look closely.

This painting was a lot of fun to do, so many bright, fun colors. It took about a month to do with a few hours a day. So worth it, the aftermath is stunning, sparkly, and wonderful to look at.

I just started this kit. It is the first “newer” one I’ve done. The updated perforated canvas is AWESOME. Makes the project feel very sturdy as you work on it. I only have one section done, but it is beautiful so far!
