About the artist

Herb Leonhard

Born in Munich, Germany, Mr. Leonhard's earliest memories are of beautifully illustrated books by German artist, Fritz Baumgarten. On the flip side, however, Mr. Leonhard was raised in the United States on many styles of comic books. This interest, almost inevitably, this led him to a career as an artist and illustrator. He lives in the Pacific Northwest with his wife, son, two horses, four cats and a plethora of chickens.

A real wizard.

All the magic of the arthurian legends comes to live when working onthis kit. So vibrant, so full of detail. The further you go, Merlin really pops up from the canvas. Love, love, love him.

Fun, but it took me forever!

Don't get me wrong, I love this kit. It is a huge square kit with 55 colors, which obviously contributed to the time. I also single place, so even more time. But I started it February 20 and finished it May 7. I know that isn't THAT long, it isn't even the longest I've spent on a kit. It is stunning when finished! All that time was definitely worth it!

How to use

This meditative craft involves placing hundreds of sparkling resin rhinestones, one-by-one, on an adhesive color-coded canvas to create a vivid, shimmering work of art.
