Dakota Daetwiler

After a fire burned down her first gallery in Fortuna, CA and Covid closed the second in nearby Ferndale, Ms. Daetwiler packed up her family and moved to Maine. There, with her nine chickens and a dog, she paints things the way she sees them, creating windows into other worlds through imaginative storytelling. She is a self taught artist whos work often contains hidden elements and a twist or two if you look closely.

So clever!

This scene is horrifying and mesmerizing at the same time. It’s a picture in a picture. The kraken is holding a ship in a bottle while if you look up you see that the entire scene is in a bottle with a suctioned tentacle surrounding it. Inside the bottle is another kraken, holding another bottle!

Dakota Daetwiler realistic paintings comes to life!

Love this Artist's DAC kits. This combines the beautiful colors of sparkling drills with Dakota's artwork and this DAC kit is outstanding! So enjoyable to work this one and the outcome is fantastic! The blues of the water are stunning. This one goes well with Dakota Daetwiler's other Octopus kits; "What Lies Beneath", "The Kraken #1", and "The Kraken #2".

Such Vibrant Colours!

This isn’t my usual theme when it comes to kits, but I definitely don’t regret buying it. The detail in this one is amazing, and there is a good variety of blues and oranges so you don’t get burnt out placing these colours. This has been a joy to work on!

How to use

This meditative craft involves placing hundreds of sparkling resin rhinestones, one-by-one, on an adhesive color-coded canvas to create a vivid, shimmering work of art.

Dip the tip of the applicator tool into the strip of wax
