Find your first project

Choose artwork you love and a size that fits your space and pace. Small and large canvases use the same simple technique.

What makes a good first project?

Make it your kind of project. A larger canvas gives you more artwork to enjoy, not a different skill to learn. Start with a design you love and work on one section at a time.

Choose a palette you love. More colors mean more sorting and switching. The placement technique stays the same, so a colorful design can still be your first.

Choose your diamond shape. Round diamonds leave small spaces between them for a softly textured, sparkling finish. Square diamonds fit snugly edge to edge, helping neighboring diamonds guide one another into alignment. Some people find that natural fit easier, with less precise positioning needed as a section fills. Both shapes are a great place to start. Choose the artwork and finish you love.
