Joelle holds a BFA in Illustration/Visual Design from the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouths School of Visual & Performing Arts. She is passionate about creating challenging puzzle compositions and painting in miniature. She is inspired by the 16th century Dutch still life painters and the Art Nouveau Movement. Joelle and her family, including a terrier named “Polly,” make their home and studio in Johnston, Rhode Island.

Love the Mystery idea!
Actually I destashed this one recently when I learnt about the image, but I love the idea of DAC‘s mystery kits and just ordered another one. I know which image it will be, so this time I‘m prepared! :D

First Mystery Kit
It took me a very long time to work on it, and that gave me the time to appreciate seeing the image coming together, and the prefect rendering of the image by DAC. It was a very fun project to do, and I think I will try another mystery painting in the future. Thank you DAC for making such fun and perfect kits!

C'est mon premier kit mystère. Le principe est vraiment génial. J'ai joué le jeu en ne voulant pas regarder l'image avant de la faire. Dommage qu'il y ai des écarts entre les diamants mais ils sont très brillants et les symboles sur la toile très net. Je la réalise en fil rouge tout le long de l'année.

Very fun to do
I'm over 3/4 done on this painting. It's quite graffiti heavy, especially in the middle, but there are also some nice colour blocking as well. First mystery painting from DAC, won't be my last!

How to use
This meditative craft involves placing hundreds of sparkling resin rhinestones, one-by-one, on an adhesive color-coded canvas to create a vivid, shimmering work of art.
Step 1
Dip the tip of the applicator tool into the strip of wax
Step 2
Pick up each diamond by pressing the applicator to the diamond’s rounded, faceted side
Step 3
Apply each diamond to the adhesive canvas template, placing it based on the color-coded chart
