Diamond Art Club drills are cut to the 5D facet specification or beyond. Where other companies sell round drills with up to around 13 facets and square drills with up to 15, our drills can have up to 20 facets. Each one catches and reflects light from the angle it's placed, which is how a finished piece picks up its sparkle. Drills come in two shapes (round and square) and various specialty effects (Iridescent, Electro, Fairy Dust, Aurora Borealis, and Glow in the Dark). Most of our specialty diamonds are available in both round and square, so you can pick the shape that fits your project without giving up the finish you want.
Round or Square: Choosing Your Shape
Kits in both shapes include standard drills and may include specialty drills. Choosing a round or square drill kit is really about how the finished piece looks and how the placement feels.
Round Drills
Round diamonds leave small spaces between them for a softly textured, sparkling finish. Their circular shape lets the printed canvas peek through between diamonds. Choose rounds if you enjoy that look; both shapes suit beginners.
Square diamonds fit snugly edge to edge, helping neighboring diamonds guide one another into alignment. Some people find that natural fit easier, with less precise positioning needed as a section fills. Their seamless coverage creates a crisp mosaic finish. You can enjoy squares from your very first project.
The small faceted resin gems, also called diamonds or beads, that you place onto an adhesive canvas. Your kit includes every drill the artwork needs; specialty drills like Bling Diamonds® are extras you add yourself.
How are Bling Diamonds® different from the drills in my kit?
Kit drills cover the whole canvas. Bling Diamonds® are high-shine extras in tonal sets of 6 to 12, placed where you want the shine.
Can I use them with any diamond painting kit?
Yes. They come in round and square, so they fit whichever shape your kit uses.
How many sets do I need for one canvas?
One set covers accent work on most canvases. Order two or more for a canvas larger than 40 by 50 centimeters, or several accent areas.
