Dakota Daetwiler

After a fire burned down her first gallery in Fortuna, CA and Covid closed the second in nearby Ferndale, Ms. Daetwiler packed up her family and moved to Maine. There, with her nine chickens and a dog, she paints things the way she sees them, creating windows into other worlds through imaginative storytelling. She is a self taught artist whos work often contains hidden elements and a twist or two if you look closely.

A Beauty

This is from Dakota Daetwiler’s zodiac series. The rendering is amazing. It will require a lot of single placing, so this project will take longer to complete. However, the finished picture will be gorgeous.

What a gorgeous painting

This kit was a slightly older kit. It didn't have the perforated cover. The drills were good. There was a strip in the middle of the canvas that did not have good stick. I used some liquid adhesive and it did work well enough to complete the painting. This kit contained quite a bit of confetti, which I enjoyed. As always, Dakota's art makes gorgeous diamond paintings.

Beautiful

I really loved working on this piece. All the stars make the whole work glitter and the eye to move through the art. The new drill pens are not my favorite though. When twisting them I had a pen crack and the putty come out the side instead of the tip. The sticky coating also didn’t seem to be consistent throughout the canvas. I had a couple different spots where the beads did not stick well.
