After a fire burned down her first gallery in Fortuna, CA and Covid closed the second in nearby Ferndale, Ms. Daetwiler packed up her family and moved to Maine. There, with her nine chickens and a dog, she paints things the way she sees them, creating windows into other worlds through imaginative storytelling. She is a self taught artist who's work often contains hidden elements and a twist or two if you look closely.

While I’m already a huge fan of this artist, I have to give Diamond Art Club credit for rendering her so beautifully! This painting is fabulous! The drills are great, and there are a ton of AB’s. She’s definitely a big girl, so she took a while to finish. The colors are so fabulous, I really love this one!

What a gorgeous painting. Even being so large it was easy to do because it was not too confetti heavy. It does have confetti, but not like a Pinson. The colors are simply stunning. The canvas was sticky, the drills were almost perfect. I had possible 10 trash drills. I am now a dedicated Dakota fan now.

This meditative craft involves placing hundreds of sparkling resin rhinestones, one-by-one, on an adhesive color-coded canvas to create a vivid, shimmering work of art.
Step 1
Dip the tip of the applicator tool into the strip of wax
Step 2
Pick up each diamond by pressing the applicator to the diamond’s rounded, faceted side
