Dakota Daetwiler

After a fire burned down her first gallery in Fortuna, CA and Covid closed the second in nearby Ferndale, Ms. Daetwiler packed up her family and moved to Maine. There, with her nine chickens and a dog, she paints things the way she sees them, creating windows into other worlds through imaginative storytelling. She is a self taught artist whos work often contains hidden elements and a twist or two if you look closely.

Love the art style. Nice mix of bright, bold color and moody dark areas. Very enjoyable image to work on. A decent amount of confetti but balanced by areas of color blocking. Would highly recommend this one!

Big and Beautiful

This turned out so pretty but I did experience a lot of gapping which made it difficult to get the diamonds straight. I think the grid was a bit bigger than usual. Still a stunning piece though! I’m excited to hang it!

Challenging but pretty

Amazing vibrant colours with great rendering of photo that make doing the artwork enjoyable. However, the size and shape make it quite difficult to work especially on a smaller working space/desk.
