After a fire burned down her first gallery in Fortuna, CA and Covid closed the second in nearby Ferndale, Ms. Daetwiler packed up her family and moved to Maine. There, with her nine chickens and a dog, she paints things the way she sees them, creating windows into other worlds through imaginative storytelling. She is a self taught artist whos work often contains hidden elements and a twist or two if you look closely.

I started this over the holidays, haven’t gotten much done of it so far but the quality is great and the color blocking really pulls together when you take a step back and look at it! It’s sometimes hard to see the “bigger picture” as you are going through it. Can’t wait until it’s done.

This painting is so gorgeous! The combo of colorblocking and confetti is perfect. I was worried about all of the blues, but it was the perfect combo. I really enjoyed putting this together and the final product was perfect!

Home For The Holidays is a beautiful painting. The colors were so vibrant! You just want to jump into the painting and walk right up to the house. The windows look like they are glowing with light. I loved working on this painting. It was also a very manageable size.

Home for the Holidays was my first DAC project and my first one that was this large. I absolutely enjoyed every single minute of working on this.
