Man this was a stellar kit. Not too large with a great mix of unusual colors (at least to me as I gravitate less to peaches and blues) but it was so stunning and a joy to work on.
Pros:
GORGEOUS! The line work and shading are amazing.
Fairy dust drills are IT and ab usage is stellar. The Halo effect around her head translates beautifully in the light. Very little trash as well.
Cons:
Pillar side render is whack. Even from afar it just doesn’t look quite right with too many colors that don’t blend well together. The hand holding the book is also strange but its not great in original art either so it’s not not true to render (and lets face it hands are so difficult to art.) Face looks a little strange up close with the usage of red drills for the eye details but far away looks okay. No Mercury earring symbol!! Probably due to the size of render but that feels like an important detail to leave out of the charting. Speaking of charting, there were a couple symbols next to each other in similar shades that could be confused like the peach tones of - and /, but the symbol clarity was good as usual, just could maybe be switched up to be even clearer. And oddly the canvas never wanted to lay flat after my initial unrolling?? Couldn’t get out the original creases on the sides but will probably be fine framed and the drills are holding great as always.
Personal discovery:
If they dont make more of this series I will throw a fit. I demand the Venus STAT please and thank you <3…
