Born and raised in Baku, Azerbaijan, Olga Akbarova eventually landed in San Jose, California, Trained as a fashion designer in art school, she dove into illustration and surface design in 2018. Grounded in the sensitive use of colors and inspired by nature's beauty, she uses traditional watercolor/gouache medium and digital software to make joyful, whimsical, detailed art. How to use
This meditative craft involves placing hundreds of sparkling resin rhinestones, one-by-one, on an adhesive color-coded canvas to create a vivid, shimmering work of art.
Step 1
Dip the tip of the applicator tool into the strip of wax
Step 2
Pick up each diamond by pressing the applicator to the diamond’s rounded, faceted side
Step 3
Apply each diamond to the adhesive canvas template, placing it based on the color-coded chart
