After a fire burned down her first gallery in Fortuna, CA and Covid closed the second in nearby Ferndale, Ms. Daetwiler packed up her family and moved to Maine. There, with her nine chickens and a dog, she paints things the way she sees them, creating windows into other worlds through imaginative storytelling. She is a self taught artist whos work often contains hidden elements and a twist or two if you look closely.

I have been wanting to do this painting for a while. I’m glad that I pulled it out of my stash. It was a pleasure to do but only one thing is I ran out of two colors and had to look through my stash of drills to try to find them, but it came out really really nice

I had convinced myself that I preferred paintings with square drills , but I thoroughly enjoyed this round drill painting. The colors are bright and fun and I loved seeing the image come to life. I guess I like square and round drills!
