The Farewell

First time ever - was compelled to pull a DP out of my stash due to my current TV Binge. Was loving The Guilded Age and went, hey....I have a painting for that! This one worked up pretty quickly (I ususally trend very large and square...). This ones dimensions are on the most modest end, and drills are round. My favorite parts of the painting are her dress (amazing!) - and the background - it's different in real life that I expected and is the perfect backdrop for the portraits. If you are enjoying The Guilded Age - take that time period to your craft table with this beauty!

I had looked at it when I unboxed it and absolutely fell in love with it. I can't wait to finish the one I'm working on to start it.

Claudia McKinney has beautiful work regardless, but I had to get this one because it reminded me of Stephanie Garber’s book Caraval. I know her hair color isn’t right for the character Tella, but this reminds me of her and Legend.

This was my first DAC canvas and it’s my favorite DP I’ve done so far. The colors were muted and kind of drab but I didn’t even mind it. As I placed drills the image came to life and that was motivation. The canvas is DAC quality - the glue is just right, the drills are beautiful, and the sparkle is just amazing! The best quality is definitely the rendering. It’s perfection! Only 4 stars because I struggled with keeping my lines straight (even with a ruler) and the gaps between the dark colored drills drove me crazy. But you can’t really tell when you look at it from a distance and I will not hesitate to do more rounds from DAC.

This canvas is absolutely gorgeous!! The sparkle is amazing. I was afraid of all the brown and gray but truthfully the picture is so captivating that I couldn’t stop working on it. DAC definitely needs to make more with this style of painting.
