After a fire burned down her first gallery in Fortuna, CA and Covid closed the second in nearby Ferndale, Ms. Daetwiler packed up her family and moved to Maine. There, with her nine chickens and a dog, she paints things the way she sees them, creating windows into other worlds through imaginative storytelling. She is a self taught artist whos work often contains hidden elements and a twist or two if you look closely.

This is a great piece to do if you love roses. My husband kept asking me what it was. I just wait to see it finished! When he took the the picture he said “I can see it now.” It really is beautiful.

I’m enjoying working on this painting and seeing it all come together. There have been some sections that is very light on the glue in turn causing some popping drills. Over all I’m very happy with this painting and can’t wait for it to be completed and hung .
