Nene began her professional career as a watercolorist in 1994. She was soon approached by Wizards of the Coast and hired to contribute work to the collectible card game “Magic: The Gathering”. Several years later, she branched out on her own as a print artist, experimenting with digital art and painting only the things she wanted to paint. She finds inspiration for from a variety of sources, but the vast majority comes from a story she has been working on since high school. “The Zarryiostrom”, her most intensely personal project, is an epic fantasy series that she tricked her poor, unwitting husband, Steven Plagman, into writing. All told, there will be nine books in the series, each containing 20 paintings by Nene.

Loved this image and the monochromatic scheme, but found it a little bit off. Keep in mind, this was released before DAC began making their own drill colors, and I think if recharted they could do amazing with this with all the new greys they now have. I added a bunch of enhancements - crystals, dust, metallic - and I'm happy with the image overall ... just wish there were more grey values between the background and the fairy/horse/dragon.

I have waited for this particular painting for a year. It will be my next painting.
This was an absolute beauty to work on.
Just finished her last night. Just beautiful and very sparkly! My only wish is that there were several more shades of grey so the horse would stand out just a bit more from the background.

I thought this painting would be a pain to make because it seemed to only have white, black and various shades of gray. My mom fell in love it and asked me to buy the kit, make it and gift it to her. DAC managed to add more colors and really add dimension to this dramatic fantasy painting.

I was pleasantly surprised with this painting. I showed it to my mom and she asked me to buy and make this for her. I thought they would only use black, white, and different shades of grays but they managed to put other colors for added dimension. It was an honor to work on this and gift it to my mom
