I do not know how the drill volts for this kit was chosen, but whoever was in charge did an absolutely horrible job. I opened the kit and found FIVE packets of BLACK drills and a lot of Halloween orange drills as well. I could not understand why these beads were sent until I looked at the canvas. Have you ever seen an orange deer? Neither have I, yet the drills assigned for Bambi were three shades of orange. Have you ever seen black grass? Since the grass in some areas was dark, why not assign dark green drills instead of black? Is the sky in the forest black on a sunny day? NO so why not assign more dark blue drills instead? Does a tree in the forest have the majority of bark black? NO so why not assign dark brown colors? Lastly, anyone familiar with the characters in Bambi knows that THUMPER is NOT brown! Thumper is gray. I obtained a copy online of the artwork Disney provided of the original Bambi illustration and tried to follow their color scheme instead. I spent a LOT of money on extra beads so the kit ended up costing nearly double the price, but I was not going to put my time into completing it with the drill colors provided by Diamond Art Club. I have purchased many kits from this website and I am generally pleased with the kits. However this kit was terribly disappointing and took twice as long as it should have to complete. I hope this is not an indicator of what other future kits will be. The joy found in working on a diamond art kit turned to mostly frustration…
