Lost But Not Forgotten

I absolutely love the look of Barrett Biggers designs. So much so, that once I saw this painting and the other cat themed work called, Realm of Cats, I was sold on the idea of doing the complete series and having them framed and placed on the wall next to one another. You can imagine how my excitement grew when I saw his work, "Cat Dreams of Leaving," drop, because then I would have a triptych. The first bubble burst however, after completing Realm of Cats and discovering that I could not find a standardized frame for it (27.6" X 34.7") and I could not cut down the image to fit a standard frame without losing important parts. That made me look more carefully at Lost But Not Forgotten (27.6" X 35.4") and realized I would have the not only the same problem finding a frame BUT both of these paintings are DIFFERENT SIZES. So esthetically, wall placement for me, it's a no now sadly after all the work on both which are rolled up in a corner in my living room.

My second issue with this design is that there are a lot of things going on in this painting for the naked eye to decipher and I went against the tried and true adage of diamond painting which is to steer clear of things that are too busy as the rendering of the image will not come out clear. This painting is large and took up most of my kitchen table and even with it's size, which I thought would help making the girl's back and the cats sitting amongst the brush more visible, I just find it okay. I know the title may not make much sense to you, but this kit hit my heart! I had a black cat, her name is/was Tabitha. Tabby for short. I found her or rather she found me, A lil black fur ball ran in front of my car, I jumped out, scooped her up, telling her I was taking her home, she crawled up on my shoulder (her fav. Spot!!) Or anywhere I was. She stayed by and on my shoulders, chest, lap for 13 yrs. . She passed on 10/27/23 in my arms. I was going to try to get her to an ER for animals, she was gone in less than 10 min. Animal Hospital was 45 min away. The vet said she had had an aneurysm And it broke me. Sadly I almost left my family to follow her. But. She visited me, (yes, I know it sounds crazy)and stayed by me in spirit and brought me back. I’m still extremely heartbroken, and I will miss her forever. So this Will hang over her ashes which is on a shelf over my head.

This canvas is beautiful! And extremely impactful. I will add her name and date when I’m finished as a reminder and I will add any and all other cats that I have or will have and lose too. Because this Dp is that important! It’s a Beacon of Light for ones who have lost their fur-kitty’s !!!
