After a fire burned down her first gallery in Fortuna, CA and Covid closed the second in nearby Ferndale, Ms. Daetwiler packed up her family and moved to Maine. There, with her nine chickens and a dog, she paints things the way she sees them, creating windows into other worlds through imaginative storytelling. She is a self taught artist whos work often contains hidden elements and a twist or two if you look closely.

When this artwork came out I thought it was so cute but not one of my absolute must haves. I did eventually buy it to be a part of an event and I’m so glad I did! It was a lot of fun to do even though there isn’t a lot of bright colors (possibly more relaxing to do because it wasn’t color overload if that makes sense.) The raccoons are rendered amazingly and are adorable. I did make some minor alterations in other spots to suit my preferences so if you do buy this, it may look a little different than my picture.

This was a beautiful image from Dakota Daetwiler. I love raccoons so I had to have it. The drill field was clear and drills were excellent quality. The glue was a bit slippery in areas, but not the entire surface so it was manageable.

This one was such a pleasure to work on - a good mix of color blocking and confetti. I added some enhancement drills to the canvas, but the art work itself is excellent.
