About the artist

Dakota Daetwiler

After a fire burned down her first gallery in Fortuna, CA and Covid closed the second in nearby Ferndale, Ms. Daetwiler packed up her family and moved to Maine. There, with her nine chickens and a dog, she paints things the way she sees them, creating windows into other worlds through imaginative storytelling. She is a self taught artist who's work often contains hidden elements and a twist or two if you look closely.

Beautiful details

I'm new to DAC and am blown away by the size of this project and the great detail it has! I've got around 49 hrs work of work into it and am only about 20% done. It was the perfect size for me to have many evenings relaxing to work on. Cannot wait to buy more!

Love Dakotas artwork. If Dac ever turns her painting of jellyspace into diamond art I will have to get it. I also have dimensions and they are all so beautiful. The diamonds sparkle and the rendering is A+

How to use

This meditative craft involves placing hundreds of sparkling resin rhinestones, one-by-one, on an adhesive color-coded canvas to create a vivid, shimmering work of art.

Step 1

Dip the tip of the applicator tool into the strip of wax

Step 2

Pick up each diamond by pressing the applicator to the diamond’s rounded, faceted side

Step 3

Apply each diamond to the adhesive canvas template, placing it based on the color-coded chart
