After a fire burned down her first gallery in Fortuna, CA and Covid closed the second in nearby Ferndale, Ms. Daetwiler packed up her family and moved to Maine. There, with her nine chickens and a dog, she paints things the way she sees them, creating windows into other worlds through imaginative storytelling. She is a self taught artist whos work often contains hidden elements and a twist or two if you look closely.

I enjoyed the entire process of working on this canvas. I felt like it had a lot of something that's a cross between confetti and color blocking. It was like confetti but in larger sections than individual diamonds., or like color blocking but only for a small area at a time. I will call this small area color blocking. The final image is awesome and highly detailed. This was my first canvas with square diamonds, and my first canvas with AB diamonds, and I learned a lot while working on it.
