This was my second ever square drill. I found it to be a little more challenging than The Empress. The grid is not as "tight". On the Empress, I was using the multi placer very closely, basically sliding each line down the edge of the previous placement. This would result in a lot of gapping since I placed them too tight.
This was an excellent learning piece for me: place multiplacers by grid, not previous placement. This reduces the size of the gaps.
Overall, tons of fun and I thoroughly enjoyed! On to the next piece!

I absolutely fell in love with this artist the first time I laid eyes on Star Maker. The drills are lovely. The background has the perfect amount of color blocking and confetti. I am enjoying every minute. I did have a little fun adding glow in the dark enhancements on the tiger. Thank you Diamond Art Club for having the best in class kits.

This is my 3rd diamond piece from this brand and I’ve been very satisfied with everyone. Except, the new tools given to press the diamonds is very tricky and hard to understand? Why does the pen screw on and off? The directions doesn’t say why. Why am I given gray putty when the max given is perfectly fine? The new pen tool makes no sense. So I grabbed my old tools to get the job done.
Out of the 3 I have worked on so far, the square gems I find the most insufferable, the squares leave very little to no room to wiggle, and if you wiggle them just a bit to hard the whole row pops out of place. Vs the circle/round gems have more room to wiggle is need to shift into place. Some square gems seem bigger than others? So I will try my best to stick with circle gems for now on.
Yuumei art is the BEST! Still waiting on another piece of hers to restock, fave diamond piece I own! Very well translated pixelated.

I received this kit as a gift last year and finally got around to working on it. It is an older version of the kit, so it came with different tools and materials than the newer kits do. But it wasn't inferior at all! I didn't really notice much difference in quality besides the tools. The diamonds were all fairly uniform, well made, and easy to use. DAC did a really good job designing this to reflect the original art-- I am a fan of the artist on Twitter and was really happy to get this kit.

Star Maker has been my unicorn ever since I first saw it. I brought it from a de-stash group, but when it came back in stock in January 2025 I brought it again - DAC's quality has always been good, but I'm excited to do it again with their even better quality kits.
