After a fire burned down her first gallery in Fortuna, CA and Covid closed the second in nearby Ferndale, Ms. Daetwiler packed up her family and moved to Maine. There, with her nine chickens and a dog, she paints things the way she sees them, creating windows into other worlds through imaginative storytelling. She is a self taught artist whos work often contains hidden elements and a twist or two if you look closely.

There is alot of detail in the image, which equals alot of confetti. It took a long time to complete. However the end result was more than worth it.

I’ve been working on this picture for almost 4 months now, I’m almost done, I can’t wait to be done so I can get it framed and hung up above my fire place. It’s been a lot of fun so far. I love the variety of wild animals in this picture.
