What a fun painting! A perfect gift for someone who loves to fish. I’ve been hoping for one like this and it couldn’t be more perfect! I’m sad that DAC no longer carries it! It’s a good mix of color blocking and confetti and it’s huge!!!

James A. Meger couldn’t remember a time in his life that he didn’t want to be an artist. His rural upbringing and his love of nature were the inspirations for his paintings and he often dreamed of combining these loves with a career. After completing his B.F.A., James served as a combat officer in Vietnam for 14 months. Eventually, he ended up teaching back in Minnesota, but he still dreamed of painting. With a lot of outside encouragement, he gave up teaching and six weeks later won the Minnesota State Duck Stamp Competition for 1980. His career took off from that point garnering numerous awards including over 15 Best of Show and Popular Choice awards at major national shows around the country. James died of cancer on August 25, 2011 and is survived by his wife, Laurene; and daughter, Elise.

I saw this and knew i had to do this one for my bf. He loves labs as we currently have a black lab. I was really dreading the black but it wasn't as much or as bad as I thought. This is the largest canvas I've done and took the longest to do but we'll worth it.
It’s extremely large so if your wanting a small or medium size painting this one is not for you… I just started this one a day ago and still have a long ways to go…
Just love how it’s very detailed, and isn’t difficult to tell what is what on the painting

This art is huge. I had to change my normal space of my desk to my dining room table. The colors are beautiful. I bought it as a Christmas preset because my mom loves fishing and black labs. Im going to do it and frame it for her.. although its so big im not sure where she'll hang it .
