After a fire burned down her first gallery in Fortuna, CA and Covid closed the second in nearby Ferndale, Ms. Daetwiler packed up her family and moved to Maine. There, with her nine chickens and a dog, she paints things the way she sees them, creating windows into other worlds through imaginative storytelling. I’ve been working on this picture for almost 4 months now, I’m almost done, I can’t wait to be done so I can get it framed and hung up above my fire place. It’s been a lot of fun so far. I love the variety of wild animals in this picture.
