I have just started on Raccoon City. I think it is a very beautiful painting. I am curious about the final result. But I'm sure it will turn out very beautiful, because it is already my second from DAC.

After a fire burned down her first gallery in Fortuna, CA and Covid closed the second in nearby Ferndale, Ms. Daetwiler packed up her family and moved to Maine. There, with her nine chickens and a dog, she paints things the way she sees them, creating windows into other worlds through imaginative storytelling. She is a self taught artist whos work often contains hidden elements and a twist or two if you look closely.

This canvas had so many things going on. It was so much fun to work on. Even though it was so big the line blocking had it going by so much faster than I originally thought it would. I did this for Dakotathon 2026, my first Dakota canvas but hopefully not my last. I could look at it all day long and still find new things about it that I love.

Well… for starters - it’s bigger than my height! 😅
Picture, details, everything is so adorable! I can’t wait to start it.
Even though the size is huge, I’m confident it will not cause any problems working on it. I will just roll it up and good to go :)

Did not have a treasure quest card (which are never guaranteed) but also was missing the sticker sheet for the colors so I think it was just missed during packing. DAC sent me a PDF which I had to cut out and tape to my containers which was a pain, but it worked. The art itself was fantastic. Took me a few months to do.
