Protect and Serve

I love everything about DAC kits! Their drills, glue, plastic cover, ect... makes working on their kits a complete joy! This one was no exception, except the artwork on this canvas gave me "memorial vibes" and I am gifting this to someone who is still living! So, I got rid of the flowers, and just made a blue policeman shirt. It was a challenge since I had to chart out alot myself, but I like the end results! If you have a square kit and want to alter it by alot, it can be done! I also cut it so it would fit in a 16x20 frame.

The end result came out really beautiful but it wasn’t a joy to work on…a lot of trash and misshapen drills in almost every color. I threw all of my black away and ended up using my spare drills for the rest of this. Really pretty colors though, but glad it’s done!

I liked the police uniform but did not like the flowers. So I modified the picture and added the law enforcement flag. I will be delivering the completed painting to my mother and father-in-law, whose son is a policeman. It turned out really nice ... and didn't take much to create the flag and wording.

Protect and Serve was so much fun to do!!! Perfect gift for my boyfriend.

I received my kit today. After looking at the picture I have decided to modify it by inserting the law enforcement blue line flag (inside of a heart) ... and removing the flowers. I will also be changing the background too. I will post a picture when finished.
