About the artist

Irina Garmashova Cawton

Originally from St. Petersburg, Russia, Irina has lived in the UK with her husband, son and her Ragdoll cat since 2000. She trained as an artist at the Academy of Baron Alexander von Stieglitz in St. Petersburg and works in oil, watercolour, and colour pencil. Irina also worked in the Art Restoration department of the Hermitage Museum. She is a recognised published artist as well as an award winning and signature member of the UK Coloured Pencil Society.

Cat playing in ribbons

When I first unenrolled this canvas, I was amazed how huge the kitties head was. It took up almost the entire canvas. I didn’t realize how overwhelmingly cute she would be, and the ribbons are so colorful.

How to use

This meditative craft involves placing hundreds of sparkling resin rhinestones, one-by-one, on an adhesive color-coded canvas to create a vivid, shimmering work of art.

Step 1

Dip the tip of the applicator tool into the strip of wax

Step 2

Pick up each diamond by pressing the applicator to the diamond’s rounded, faceted side

Step 3

Apply each diamond to the adhesive canvas template, placing it based on the color-coded chart
